Night life is very active on Sicily at least for half a year. The season of disco parties starts there in April and finishes in the middle of October. It is very difficult to get into night clubs in Sicily that time. Night clubs of Sicily are the places, where Sicilians and tourists spend half of their lives in summer. They like having a rest and know how to do it well. The most popular centers of night life in Sicily are considered to be Taormina, Catania, Palermo and some resorts in the provinces of Trapani and Agrigento.
There is a great variety of night clubs in Palermo and tourists can choose any according to their taste and imagination. There are lots of cafes, which are opened the whole night, a great number of pubs and small restaurants situated in cozy places. In general, the central streets of Palermo in summertime can be seen as one great night club. Feel free to dance in Country Club in Via dell’Olimpo and Kursaal Kalhesa in Foro Umberto I 21. By the way, Kursaal Kalhesa has been considered to be the best night club in Palermo for some years.
Night life in Catania is not so exciting as in the capital. If to compare with Palermo the number of night clubs is not so great. But for sure it has number of different ways for good relax. I Quattro Venti is a restaurant in Catania, which becomes one of the greatest dancing halls of the city, especially after midnight. The discotheque on the open air in Catania is called Banacher. It’s in Via Vampolieri. Manteca club in Via 21 Aprile is considered to be a dancing hall for gilded youth. Those, who prefer talking and communicating with friends to dancing will enjoy visiting the English pub called Royal Pub Ceres. Middle-aged people are fond of that place, possibly, because of the best beer in Catania.
Taormina is the “bohemian capital” of Sicily. Its clubs are famous for the entertainments and the number of celebrities, who come to relax and dance there. The heart of night life in Taormina is in the central streets and squares of the city: Corso Umberto, Piazza San Domenico, Piazza 9 Aprile. There are a lot of famous clubs and night bars there. Most of the celebrities come in the middle of June because at that time an annual cinema festival is held there. Popular places of night life are considered to be an Irish O-seven pub, where people come to meet their friends and chat, an Italian bar Re di Bastoni, where people come to sing songs and dance, Septimo club, where High Fashion Shows are organized, and La Giara, an abode of luxury with a wonderful view of the Taormina harbor.
