Traditionally Sicily is considered to be the region for summer vacations. Starting from June and up to October the main activity and the source of income for the most of the native citizens on Sicily is tourist business. There are different kinds of tourism on Sicily: sightseeing, spa tourism, extreme tourism and calm holidays in small villages.
The most popular holidays on Sicily are holidays on the beaches together with sightseeing. If you have only a fortnight you won’t be able to see all the architectural monuments, but the monuments of Palermo and Monreale, Syracuse and Agrigento, Catania and Trapani are worth seeing. The best way of travelling is to rent a car. You will have an opportunity to learn Sicily from inside.
What concerns vacations on the beaches, there are at least three best resorts there. They are Taormina, Cefalu and Lampedusa. The first is “the summer capital” of Sicily. It is situated in Messina province in the north-east of the isle. The second is the island not far from the seacoast of Sicily. There is a Rabbit Beach there, which is considered to be one of the ten best beaches on the planet. The third one is famous for its architecture.
Spa holidays are also popular on Sicily. The best spa resorts are in the vicinity of Palermo (Banyee de Sclaphany) and Lipari (San Calogero).
Spending holidays on Sicily is a good idea for families, students, pensioners and millionaires. To travel along Sicily by car or along its sea-coast by yacht, to do parachute jumping or to go by airplane to the foot of Etna is your personal choice. Anyway, you will get lots of positive emotions on Sicily.
