The traditional “Viaggi” begin on 20 July and, for one month, take place every evening as pilgrimages to the Santuario di San Calogero. The Pellegrinaggio a Cavallo has its own distinctive form. Participants meet in the hamlet of “Due Fiumare”, climb together toward the town and pass by the Santuario di San Calogero. An altar with the saint's relic is set up in Piazza San Calogero. Horses, male and female riders pay their respects to it and receive the blessing of the celebrating priest. The sequence combines the communal ascent with a religious ceremony, making the pilgrimage visible as a cultural event.

Local Products and Culinary Traditions

The festivals also provide insight into the products of the Fitalia area. The Sagra della Castagna usually takes place on the last weekend of October. At the Sagra del Miele, in addition to the highly prized honey, a selection of local products is presented, including oil, strawberries, dairy products, cured meats, bread, desserts and typical dishes. The program is complemented by culinary competitions and presentations of local handicrafts. Thus, this event showcases not only individual specialties but also various forms of regional production and craftsmanship.
