The fortified Casale Santa Eufemia completes this historical picture: it was founded in the 12th or 13th century and served the Aragonese rulers as a seasonal residence.

Two murals are part of the more recent culture of remembrance. “Piccolo” honours Giuseppe Di Matteo and all innocent victims of the Mafia. “La Comunità” uses local faces from the MuVi Lascari photo archive as symbols of collective identity. These works show that local history here is preserved not only in older buildings.

Communal Table and Sicilian Flavours

A striking example of the local connection between tradition and food is the Tavolata di San Giuseppe. This is a communal open-air meal in Lascari with around 500 seats.
