There are lots of variants for tourists to satisfy their hunger in Palermo. Eating in Palermo doesn’t mean only pizza and pasta. Many emigrants living in Palermo have brought their own colors into the gastronomic palette of this place. Today tourists can taste Asian, African and Indian cuisine there. But among the great variety of dishes the traditional Sicilian cuisine is predominant.

Some excellent trattories are situated in the suburbs of Palermo along the popular tourist routes, such as Palermo-Monreale and Palermo-Mondello. But it is difficult to guess there which place is the best. Pay attention to the fact, where local citizens prefer eating. As a rule they are unremarkable cafes with excellent cuisine and funny prices.
The restaurants of Palermo have democratic prices in general. The average price for dinner with wine in a café or a restaurant is about 20 Euros per person. The respectable eating places are situated near cultural centers in Palermo, for example, near the English Gardens (Giardino Inglese). The average price will be 50% higher there.
