The Chiesa di S. Nicolò has a Romanesque-style interior with three naves, a transept, three rectangular apses, twelve monolithic sandstone columns with Corinthian capitals and a wooden ceiling. The furnishings also include a marble relief of the Nativity. It was commissioned from Antonello Gagini on 13 October 1526 and largely executed by his son Giacomo. The site of the Castello di Roccella Valdemone is located at the small Rocca, which today serves as a municipal viewpoint; no remains of the castle are visible.

A hike to the summit of Punta di Castelluzzo can begin at Piazza Matrice and is of medium difficulty. This is a clearly described way to experience the elevation and landscape of Roccella Valdemone on an active excursion.
